Message of the IEA President

Welcome to the International Economic Association, which has been bringing economists together from around the world since 1950. I hope that you will be interested in some of our many activities, which you can read about on this website.

Every three years the IEA holds a World Congress. I am pleased to say that our 2026 Congress, just held in Belgrade (and made possible by the Serbian Association of Economists), was a great success. Approximately 1000 economists gathered to discuss such important topics as artificial intelligence, international trade, climate change, and U.S.- China relations. We have now begun planning for the 2029 meeting.

 I look forward to seeing you in person or online at an upcoming IEA event.
